Strengthening Ties from Ontario to New Jersey
The formal launch of its game portfolio with BetMGM in New Jersey would mark Octoplay’s maiden official entry into the US gaming market. This step is taken further away beyond the initial success obtained in Ontario, where Octoplay also created a jackpot system called Jackpot Blitz together with BetMGM. The partnership going across the border and into New Jersey makes it the first operating base for Octoplay in North America. Octoplay is expanding its influence from Europe to the US. The company holds active licenses in Sweden, the UK, the Netherlands, and Malta. It recently secured provisional licensing in Michigan and plans further rollouts across the US. More than anything, this expansion indicates a really strong push to becoming a transatlantic gaming powerhouse.

A Clear Roadmap for Growth
Ralitsa Georgieva, Octoplay’s Business Development Director, labeled the New Jersey launch a major milestone in the company’s 2025 growth plan. Oliver Bartlett, BetMGM’s Vice-President of Gaming, was in agreement and said the games offered by Octoplay have also proved to work well in other markets. Comparatively speaking, the U.S. market is in its infancy compared to its European counterpart, but understandably, the focus is on a regulated market with proven demand. While looking at the rate at which Octoplay has grown, and indeed the pace is fast, it is enjoying five new operator integrations every month and has over 80 operator agreements signed globally. Yet, the pace has not slowed down, and it is this flexibility in the two-region model that looks to balance European dominance with North American penetration. This ensures the brand remains competitive in different markets.
Strategic Partnerships and Market Expansion
Several strategic alliances have given Octoplay’s games a global presence in recent months. After its deal with the national operator of Denmark, Danske Spil, in May 2025, the company had already initiated integration with Svenska Spel in Sweden and Jacks.nl in the Netherlands. Other Allied partnerships followed in the UK with Rank Group and with JOI Gaming to establish a presence in the Netherlands. However, New Jersey for Octoplay is much more than a mere launch location; it means stepping into a high-value, regulated gaming landscape. With more US states opening up for online gaming, Octoplay is behind this expansion and growth. Still, the company aims to strike a healthy balance between European saturation and early-stage burgeoning North American markets for a sustainable and profitable future.
